Aanshul’s deejaying journey started in New Delhi, India, at the young age of 19. He always had an ear for good music and he decided to give it a serious thought right after High school in this 1st year of College.
He started out with a Delhi based mobile deejaying company where he worked as an assistant technician for over a year. During this time he got a fair amount of exposure to music but very little chances to play music. He had to sit and watch while other people played but during his spare time he worked on his music skills by counting beats and listening to music.
At one such event he came across someone who helped him find the break he was looking for. His name is Jayant and a really good friend, idol and mentor. Jayant along with Dimpy ran a mobile deejaying company, called Party Zone. Under their watchful eyes and guidance he started to flourish and started to improve his music skills. He was also give a lot of opportunities to play at various events and here is when his deejaying career took off. For the next 3 years he played at a lot of major events including festivals music shows and also played for Coke for a number of parties all over Delhi and outside of it as well.
The big break he was looking for came from a major club in Delhi where he started as an assistant DJ and played for a year.
He moved to the Seattle, United States in 2002 to pursue an educational career and to find employment opportunities that would suit his educational qualifications, but music was so deeply tied to him that he found a way to play here as well. He started to first play with the I heart Shiva Crew at the Baltic room and he played there for almost 1 ½ years and acquired a fair amount of success.
His next turn came when he played for the Tasveer nites at a club called Tost in Freemont. Also during this time he played at a lot of private parties including weddings, festival gatherings and a host of other events.
His two biggest shows in the city of Seattle to date remain the Seattle Arab Film Festival and the Punjabi MC show for which he played.
Aanshul has a wide variety of music that he plays including Bollywood, Bhangra, Arabic and Latin. He has the ability to mix tracks seamlessly, which makes it sound like a smooth flow of music.
He hopes to get in production of music soon and be successful at it.
